Making the leap from a regular foundation to an adjustable base is a big decision.  You’re probably here trying to see if this model will meet your needs and if it’s for better comfort or for an ailment.  People with issues like Arthritis, acid reflux, and trouble with snoring have found relief by using a power base.  

The Tempur-Ergo is a really good choice for both added comfort and for assisting with medical issues.  It's the mid-level model by Tempur-Sealy with more features than the Sealy Ease 3.0 but fewer than the Tempur-Ergo Extend. Wireless Remote Control	The wireless remote for the Tempur Ergo Adjustable Base comes with several luxury features.  Here they are from the top of the remote to the bottom: Two-zone massage with varying intensities for the head and foot portions of the bed. On the outside edges of the middle are the regular up and down functions for the head and foot portions of the base. The light button in the middle of the remote controls the under-bed lighting. This is a really nice feature for when you need to get out of bed at night and don't want to disturb your sleep partner by turning on an overhead light. The QuietMode™ button allows you to raise the head portion of the base to a height that helps alleviate snoring. The TV button raises the head section of the base to a height that makes it ideal for watching television in bed. This feature is also programmable by you so you can get into your perfect position for watching your favorite shows while in bed. The ‘Zero-G’ button positions your body in such a way that it simulates being weightless. The idea is to relieve pressure from your back while putting you in the most ideal sleeping position to help you fall asleep faster. The 'star' button is programmable to your favorite position. Once you figure out exactly where you like the adjustable base to be while you sleep you can set that position on this button.  That way, the next time you get into bed you can hit one button rather than adjusting everything again.
Adjustable Height Legs	The legs for the Tempur Ergo base come in three-inch increments, meaning that the base can be from 8" to 17" off the floor.  This is a great feature because everybody is a different height so this caters to people of all heights.  The best part is that the legs automatically come with the base so you can adjust the height later on if you want it lower to the floor or higher up, it meets your needs no matter what.
Split Bases for King & Cal King Beds	A common concern that people have regarding adjustable bases is 'will it work with my (Cal) King mattress?'.  Well, the good news is that Sealy has the Smart Sync™ pairing system which joins two separate adjustable bases together to work in unison for the larger mattresses.  As you'll notice in the photo, an additional feature can be a Split King or Split Cal King mattress.  Sometimes you and your sleep partner need different comfort levels to get your best sleep, but you still want the intimacy of sharing a bed together.  Not to worry, you can get two separate Twin XL mattresses or a Split Cal King mattress for your preferred comfort levels and the Tempur Ergo power bases underneath can be made to work independently while still being "tied together".  They can be joined physically but still function independently, which is a really nice feature.

The Benefits of Having an Adjustable Base

Using an adjustable base will improve the comfort that your mattress gives you. It does so by allowing you to sleep in a position that relieves the most pressure on your body, ensuring your comfort for a better night's sleep.  The Tempur-Ergo is a higher-end luxury model that offers benefits that most regular power bases don't.  You get massage features, under-bed lighting, programmable presets, and anti-snoring features.   I know that a quality adjustable base can also help ease the pains associated with Arthritis from my own personal experience.  Power bases also help with problems like acid reflux, joint and back pain, and sleep apnea.

Of the many benefits of pairing your mattress with an adjustable base, I'd say that their endurance is the best.  Most adjustable bases are built to last up to ten years, which is how long most mattress warranties last.  You should really give one of these things serious consideration for your next foundation.
