From Jonette –
Can you please measure the height, width and length of the Spring Air Back Supporter Radiance Extra Firm Full mattress and low
profile foundation? I have an antique bed and want to make sure it will fit on it. And I do NOT want a mattress that is very high. Could you tell me the difference in heights of mattresses say in 1940 compared to the smallest of the mattresses now?
The standard dimension for a full size is 54″ wide by 75″ long. The Back Supporter Radiance firm mattress is 11″ thick and you can get a 9″ or 5 1/2″ box spring.
Mattresses over the years have gotten thicker. It used to be that mattresses were not any thicker than 6″ or 7″. Now it is rare to find a mattress that is 7 inches thick (most start at 9″ or 10″ now) and they can be as thick as 18″. I hope that helps, but if you have any other questions let us know and we’d be happy to help.
