Golden Elegance vs Silver Dream

June 24, 2009

From Kathryn,
I have lied on the Golden Elegance comfort scale 10 S & F mattress. But I cannot find the Silver Dream comfort scale 9.5 to lie on. The bed is for me and I need a queen size. I guess my question is this: the price jump from the Silver Dream to the Golden is huge and I’m uncomfortable with the Golden Elegance price. BUT, I can’t find the Silver Dream to lie upon to test it. SUch a dilemna.

I love a mattress that feels as if I’m sleeping on a cloud, but yet knowing (with a mild sensory feel) that I am being “held up” or supported in the air. Will the Silver Dream S & F do it?

p.s. I have a bed in my guest room that is a sealy posturepedic Crown Jewel “Nurture.” It is a dream to sleep on. I have a queen pillow top (with latex etc) in my bedroom. The mattress is old and needs to go out the door, but even when brand new, it never “did” it for me as the bed in my guest room. Sealy does not make crown jewel anymore and I’ve tried their current lines, including the Eurolusterleaf which has the 3.5″ comfort plus latex, foam, etc. pillow top. But, it’s not right. I was much more cozy on the Golden S & F, but it’s pricepoint is a bit steep.

Hi Kathryn,
Yes the Silver dream will give you this feel. Typically a half point is un-noticeable to most customers. I myself have laid on both the Golden Elegance and the Silver dream and I have a hard time telling the difference between the two. Stearns and Foster Plush Model Updated

June 23, 2009

From Susan -
Do you know what current bed would be comparable to my Stearns & Foster “Kingscourt Derryhill Plus” model, which was purchased new in the mid-1990s? Thanks for your help!

Hi Susan,
There would not be a current comparable model to the S & F mattress you have from the mid 90′s. The foam layers and coil system has changed.
If it is a Plush model – I can recommend any of the Stearns & Foster plush models located on our website.

Stearns & Fosters Manhattan Dreams

June 3, 2009

From Mark -
I found the Stearns & Foster’s Manhattan Dreams mattress in a retail store, but cannot find it on your web site. Can you help in this matter? I would like to know availability and price.

Also, do you sell the “low profile” box spring with it, rather than the standard one?

Hi Mark,
That mattress is the Arles Abbey plush on our website. It currently retails at $1709 for a limited time in a queen size and is available with a low profile foundation. Delivery would take 2-3 weeks.

From Lynn -
Please let me know if you can tell me the current model that is comparable the Stearns and Foster ‘Rose Dream’ mattress.

Hi Lynn,
The Stearns and Foster Rose Dream mattress is a model from 2005 according to my records. The model that replaced it is known as the Stearns and Foster Etoile Plush Euro Top.

Stearns and Foster Model Update

May 7, 2009

From Sandy -

I currently have a Sterns and Foster mattress that I love. I am interested in buying the same set as I currently have, but I can’t find it.

Here is the information on the label:
manufacture date…99-08-05
593116 queen 5408 Dominion Knightsbridge PT.

Do they still make this mattress? It’s a pillowtop. Did they change the name or model number?

Hi Sandy,

Thank you for contacting US-Mattress.com
Mattress companies consistently update their line ups. Your model, the Knightsbridge Pillowtop, is a model that Stearns and Foster made until 2002. I ran a search and the model that replaced it is known as the Toulous Ultra Plush Box Top.
