Simmons Cypress Latex Plush

July 17, 2009

From Steve -
I found a Simmons Mattress that I really liked, however the price was a bit too steep for me.

The mattress was the Simmons Beautyrest World Class Cypress Latex Plush.

Hi Steve,
As you are finding out, the mattress manufacturers change the names from store to store. If the model you saw locally uses latex, and is part of the world class series of Simmons Beautyrest, it will be the same as our Monrovia.

We liked the Simmons Beautyrest Fontelina at the Mattress Warehouse – do you you have this one – or what would be the comparable model? Please let me know.

Hi Dave,
The Simmons Fontelina is identical to our Simmons Beautyrest Lusaka.

Simmons Beautyrest Ashton Visco Plush

July 5, 2009

From Deborah -
Looking for a Queen Simmons Beautyrest Ashton Visco Plush mattress set. What is your comparable? I need the same support. This was great, tho I thought the top felt a little too soft, but was assured the support (lower back) was same as the Ashton firm – cost was similar, too.

Hi Deborah,

We carry the same mattress just under a different name. Our name for that mattress would be the Lusaka visco plush.

Mattress Recommendation

July 1, 2009

From Steve -
I am trying to decide between a Beautyrest Lusaka Visco Plush and the Sealy Greenhurst Plush. I sleep on a 9 year old world class (but don’t know the name of it) that feels fairly firm and love it.

I sleep on a friends mattress about 40 nights a year which is a Sealy (but I don’t know the name of it) and it is comfortable too. I am upgrading from a queen bed to a king bed and want to make the right decision.

Which of the two listed is best…or do you have a different recommendation?

Hi Steve,
It depends on a couple of factors. First, if you’re planning on going with a queen size, the Simmons will be better due to the individually pocketed coil. Simmons designs their mattresses to provide excellent support as well as durability when 2 people are sleeping on a queen size whereas a Sealy can develop a slope towards the center. If you are going to go with a king size then either manufacturer is great.

If I had to choose, I would probably go with the Simmons but that is just because I am a light sleeper and Simmons offers motion separation to keep me from feel my wife’s incessant tossing and turning. If that isn’t an issue for you, then generally speaking, you will get a longer lifespan from a king size Sealy due to their incredibly durable innerspring system. But again, both are great manufacturers and carry the same 10 year warranty.

I hope this helped answer your questions, but if you would like to speak with a member of our sales team, please feel free to contact us by dialing 1 800 455 1052.

At the MattressFirm, the tag on the Cape Horn model says “plush firm”. Do you know exactly which model matches this?

Simmons Southlands Plush

July 1, 2009

From Tom -
We are looking at a King size Simmons Beautyrest World Class mattress that Walmart sells under the name Southlands Plush. We like that this mattress has latex and no memory foam, however we do not like that this set only comes with the 9″ foundation. What set do you have that is comparable to this mattress in features and cost but is available with the low profile foundation?

Hi Thomas,

The only set that we have that compares to the Southland is the Simmons Beautyrest Worldclass Monrovia latex plush. It is available with a low profile foundation.

Different Box Springs Void Warranty

June 30, 2009

From Lenny -
I bought a Bassett mattress from your company about a year ago, the Bassett Halsbrook II. My question is, if I want to buy the simmons worldclass lusaka visco extra firm mattress only and use the Bassett boxspring (since the boxspring is only a year old I am thinking about reusing it), would that boxspring be enough support for the simmons mattress?

I know that the simmons require rigid foudation and I think the bassett boxspring uses spring instead. I called Simmons but they can’t tell me if it would be proper support or if it would void the warranty because they don’t know how the bassett boxspring is made, they need me to take pictures of the boxspring and send it to them. Since you have knowledge of Bassett Bedding, would you say the boxspring that came with the Halsbrook II be sufficient support for the simmons worldclass mattress?

Hi Lenny,

If you place a Simmons mattress on top of any other manufacturers foundation it will void the warranty. Simmons did not inform you of this for the fear of losing you as a customer. All manufacturers preform this way. Since that box spring is from last years line I believe that you would void the warranty on any mattress that you place on it at this time.
