Matching Mattresses (or How to Get a Better Deal at US-Mattress.com)

Dear Snooze Guru,

I just got back from an amazing vacation. I went all over the place. Get this- I met a guy in Baltimore named DeBruce, and do you know what his job was? Professional juggler. Man, I’m telling you, they know how to live in Baltimore. DeBruce had it made. Anyway, I stayed at some really nice hotels with mattresses that were super comfortable. I got the names of a few of them, but it looks like you don’t sell any of them at US-Mattress.com. What gives? I got a price for buying the mattress through the hotel, and I’m still counting zeroes (not really, but you get it. It was pricey). I know that I can get a good deal on US-Mattress.com, but what do I do if I don’t see what I’m looking for?

Dear Danny,

Thank you for your letter. Your question is a common one here at US-Mattress.com. Mattress manufacturers give their models different names for the different markets where they are sold. For instance, a Serta mattress you see at one store might be the exact same mattress you see at another store, but with a different name. As for hotel mattresses, it can be a little trickier to compare. Some hotel mattresses are made exclusively for the hotel, so you can’t really find the same one elsewhere. However, you can always call us at 1-800-455-1052 to speak with a mattress expert who can help you find the closest alternative that we sell. In most cases, our mattress experts can help you find something comparable to what you slept on at the hotel. This will end up costing you a lot less money – money that you could put toward new pillows or sheets that will enhance your sleeping experience even further. Serta Perfect Sleeper

Dear Snooze Guru,

I’m a bit of a perfectionist. I try to do everything as perfectly as I can. For instance, last night when my wife Jane and I were eating our dinner that I cooked (ahthankyouverymuch), Jane couldn’t stop talking about how good the meal was. How perfect it was. See where I’m going with this? I want everything to be perfect, ok? Everything. Including my sleep. Now, I must say that this is one area of my life where I’m not perfect. When it comes to sleeping, I have flaws. Look, we all do. I’m not going to get into what kind of sleeping flaws I have, but just know that I have them and I WILL correct them. I WILL sleep perfectly. I’ve decided that I need a new mattress. Maybe that’s what is keeping me from sleeping perfection. I searched for mattresses with the word “perfect” in the name (obviously), and I found two lines from Serta. The Perfect Day and Perfect Sleeper series. Now, I’m not very interested in the Perfect Day mattresses, because I’ve already had a perfect day. Several times. I’m actually really good at creating perfect days. It’s kind of my thing. Shopping for a mattress has never been one of the easiest things to do, but in these economically challenging times it’s even more tiresome. Everybody wants a deal, but it can be hard to know what KIND of deal you’re getting.
