What’s Important in a Crib Mattress

February 27, 2010

From Ken -
How do I know what’s good in a crib mattress? There don’t seem to be as many options as there are for adult mattresses. Is this a bad thing? Should I go with a brand name like Sealy?

Hi Ken,
There aren’t as many mattresses for babies because there doesn’t need to be, so it’s not a bad thing. An infant needs a firmer surface to sleep on, so most of these mattresses are firm. Crib mattresses are manufactured to a high quality standard. Buying a brand name like Sealy does offer a little more reassurance when it comes to quality.
While it won’t be used for an extensive amount of time, it is a good idea to spend a little more to get something you’re sure will work for you and your family. We actually offer a program for crib mattresses called “Grow Up with US-Mattress”. When you buy a crib set from us and when your little one isn’t so little anymore, give us a call and we will put 100% of the money you spent on the crib mattress towards the purchase of a new mattress set. It’s a great program to make sure you get the most out of your money while being sure you’re happy with your purchase.

Adujstable Base and site questions

February 24, 2010

From Landon -
My wife and I are looking for a new king sized mattress. We both like the adjustable beds but the ones that we looked at seemed considerably more expensive. However, they are not out of the question. If we could get one of those reasonably priced, that would probably be our favorite option. We like Sealy or Serta with a pillow top but not where you can’t get out of the bed, so somewhat firm under the pillowtop. We had a sleep number bed that we didn’t like so we got rid of it. However, we are open to just about any other type of bed. My wife and I differ a little bit of course, I like the bed a little harder than she does.

I have some questions:
Can I buy a Tempurpedic online?

Do you have a 90-day in home trial? Please clearly explain how that works. Would I get 100% cash back or is it store credit? Would I return the bed to your store or is picked up? Or does it go directly to the manufacturer? Who covers shipping?

Is there a separate warranty from the manufacturer and from your store? If so, how long is it good for and what are the details?

Hi Landon,
If you are looking into the possibility of an Adjustable Base, you are limited on the types of mattresses you can use with it. You would need to use either an all foam mattress; such as Latex or Visco Memory Foam, or the only coil system mattress you could use is a Simmons Beautyrest.

We do not sell Tempurpedic mattresses on our website, just in our stores in Michigan, but that type of mattress would work on an adjustable base because it is an all foam mattress, similar to Visco memory Foam.

We offer a 100 Day Comfort Exchange Guarantee. The customer has up to 100 days to sleep on the mattress and if you decide you do not like it you can exchange it. There is a $99 fee and if you go up in price you pay the difference. We will cover the shipping costs to deliver the replacement mattress and pick up the old one at the same time to be shipped back to us.

The Warranty is provided by the manufacturer. In the event you feel the mattress is defective you can contact us or the manufacturer. We are happy to handle the warranty claim for you.
The Warranty terms are dependent on which model you end up going with, they are all different from brand to brand.

Here I have provided links to the adjustable bed frame options on our website as well as links to the mattresses that will work on the adjustable base so you can see what we have available..

Latex Chemicals

February 22, 2010

From Trisha -
Regarding the Eco Latex 8, what materials are used to create the 6″ support base? I am highly allergic to certain chemical exposures.

Hi Trisha,
The support base is made of furniture grade polyurethane foam. Most people won’t have allergy problems with this type of foam, but if you’re particularly sensitive, you may want to contact the company directly to see if they can give you specific information based on chemicals you’ve had problems with in the past.

From Lilliana -
I tried the Sealy Springfree Weybridge Firm at a friend’s house recently and really liked it. I can’t find it at my local store or on your site. Is it still available or is there something very similar to it. I thought it was really comfortable and I hope you can point me in the right direction!

Hi Lilliana,
On our site the Weybridge is called the Sealy Springfree Brasswood Firm. Our customers really seem to like it, so it’s no surprise you’ve enjoyed it as well.
