Sealy Posturepedic mattress life

September 19, 2009

From Christine -
We are buying a home and the sellers would like to sell us their king size bed including mattress. They told me it is a 10 year old Sealy Posturepedic Caravelle Plush. I’m not finding that model anywhere and don’t know how good a 10 year old mattress would be. I’m assuming it is in pretty good shape as they are a small Asian couple. Our current mattress is at least that old, so I’m not that picky. Just wanting to know if this was a good mattress to begin with or not?

Hi Christine,
A Sealy Posturepedic that is 10 years old would “normally” be on its last legs unless that mattress was used in a spare bedroom.
Even if they are smaller people sleeping on a king it would have their body impressions from where they slept on a nightly basis.
We can’t cross reference a 10 year old Sealy Mattress. It would long be discontinued and inexistent.
Look at the mattress without any linens on it to ensure there aren’t any stains – lay on it to make sure it is a good comfort for them, etc.
