Back to School and Sleep

Many children have to deal with is getting on a good sleep schedule. It’s tough no matter what age they are. Not getting enough sleep is an important cause of school performance problems as well as behavioral problems, so it is important to encourage good sleep habits for children of all ages.

It is best to get your child on the sleep routine they will have once school starts as soon as possible and at least a few weeks before school starts. During this time, it is best to keep to as strict a routine as possible, with the same bedtime and wake up time each day, even on weekends.
