Just wanted to touch base with someone about my mattress; can you answer a question or two? My question is about the box spring, is it a foundation or box spring? And, which is stronger? I am concerned because my prior box spring broke from excess weight? How much weight is maximum capacity for the bottom piece? I have purchased a model which I am hoping is built strong.
Hi Mary,
You will receive a foundation with your order. The foundation is a stronger base so you should not have any problems with that. We estimate the maximum weight the foundation can hold is about 600 lbs.. This weight does not include the mattress weight so most people should be able to sleep on that mattress without any problems from the foundation. You can even call Simmons directly to see what they say on a maximum weight at 1-877-399-9397.
