Simple Platform Bed

June 22, 2009

From Greg -
Recently I ordered a Sealy Shallow Sea Plush Euro Pillow Top queen size mattress only.
About a month later I ordered a simple metal frame to use with the mattress, (the easy-assembly frame that comes with many mattress set purchases), also queen size, which I thought would be the right fit.
As it turns out, the frame is a bit too large for the mattress, and I need more support. Perhaps this was not the right frame for my mattress brand.
However, I don’t want to buy a full frame with head and footboard right now.  Is there some sort of simple, slatted base I could purchase, or should I buy the matching boxspring separately–or can I buy the matching boxspring separately?
At the moment I don’t have all the product numbers available, but the mattress description above should help you, I hope.

Hi Greg,
We do not sell box springs separately. We do sell a very simple platform bed which would work with a mattress alone without a box spring. It is called the Modus Newport Simple Platform Bed.

Simmons Plush Firm Recommendations

June 22, 2009

From Cindy -
I currently have a queen size kingsbridge stearns and foster mattress. It is about 9 years old and still very comfortable but it has stains from 3 babies sleeping there on occasion(…). We like a relatively firm mattress,
I have back issues, my husband also has a bad back. I would like something to minimize how much I can feel his tossing and turning. The one I have now has a padding on top sort of like your euro coil in coil ones. What mattress do you reccommend please. Also I have a queen EThan Allen sleighbed, do you think there is a way to put a king mattress on that without changing beds?
Thank you

Hi Cindy,
The best manufacturer for motion separation in the mattress, so you don’t feel your partners movement, is Simmons Beautyrest.
No, you probably won’t be able to convert your Queen Sleigh Bed into a King, but you may want to double check with Ethan Allen directly.
As far as a recommendation in the Simmons line up there are quite a few different possibilities for you depending on the comfort and quality you want:

Daybed Size

June 22, 2009

From JoAnn -
I am looking for a narrow day bed, ideally only about 30-33″ deep. I have a small area for one to go into. Do you they make them that small?

Hi JoAnn,
I am sorry, I don’t know of any daybeds that are as thin as you need. Daybeds accept a twin mattress which is 38 inches wide, in which all of the daybed depths would be 38 inches or bigger.

Custom Size for Adjustable Bed

June 22, 2009

From David -
Please provide a list of mattresses and their prices that would replace the top mattress of a Serta adjustable bed. The size of the mattress should be 37” X 78”.

Hi David,
The only mattresses by Serta on our website that would work with an adjustable base are latex or visco memory foam. However the dimensions you are requesting are not available. A Twin measures 38″ by 75″ and a twin extra long measures 38″ by 80″.

Let me know if either of these would work and I would be happy to give you a price quote with links to the mattresses on our website.
