No tossing and turning firm mattress

May 14, 2009

From Cindy -
I currently have a queen size Kingsbridge Stearns and Foster mattress. It is about 9 years old and still very comfortable but it has stains from 3 babies sleeping there on occasion. We like a relatively firm mattress, I have back issues, my husband also has a bad back. I would like something to minimize how much I can feel his tossing and turning. The one I have now has a padding on top sort of like your euro coil in coil ones. What mattress do you recommend please? Also I have a queen Ethan Allen sleigh bed, do you think there is a way to put a king mattress on that without changing beds?

Hi Cindy,
The best manufacturer for motion separation in the mattress, so you don’t feel your partners movement, is Simmons Beautyrest.

Since you like firm mattresses, there are several we carry you might like. There are three mattresses that Simmons offers that are firm and offer the most motion separation: Fondulac Latex Luxury Firm, Tallinn Visco Latex Luxury Firm and the Harare Visco Extra Firm. Slightly lower in motion separation but a customer favorite is the Lusaka Visco Extra Firm. The Lusaka Visco Plush-Firm which another customer favorite offers a bit more cushioning and is rated a 6 on our comfort scale.

No, you probably won’t be able to convert your Queen Sleigh Bed into a King, but you may want to double check with Ethan Allen directly.

I would like to buy a mattress that is 33″ x 66″. Is that possible? If so, how much would it be?

Hi Michelle,

We have six different options for custom size mattresses, depending on what kind of comfort you’re looking for. The mattress sets start at $699 and can be from 30 to 54 inches wide and 60 to 75 inches long. Keep in mind, since it’s custom made for you, it can take up to 12 weeks for delivery.

Sealy Seaview Pines

May 14, 2009

From Kimberly in Dallas, Texas -
I recently found a mattress at Mattress Firm by Sealy called Posturepedic Seaview Pines Plush. It’s in the reserve collection. Can you help me match it to one of yours since I would prefer to buy from you? I’m not sure if it’s the same bed as Hope Mills Plush or the Akerman Plush.

Hi Kimberly,
The Sealy Reserve Seaview Pines is identical to our Sealy Akerman Plush. I hope this answered your question, but if you would like to speak with a member of our staff, please feel free to give us a call by dialing 1-800-455-1052.
