From Serge -
I was hoping to get some guidance on a mattress for my 2 year old son. I am looking for a decent quality bed and am torn between the idea of firm vs. plush beds. I have read on some posts saying for a young child’s spinal development that it should be a firm bed and was wondering if there was any truth to this?
I was looking at something like a Sealy euro-top type bed in a firm or plush. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi Serge,
Yes, you should avoid getting a very soft, cushy mattress for a young child, like a Pillowtop or Euro Top. You can get a firm or plush. Plush is a neutral feel and would not hurt a child’s development in any way.
In the Sealy line-up, we recommend either the Sealy Eaglewood Plush or Cushion Firm for young children.
