Amisco Marcia Bed

May 7, 2009

From Polly in Collorado Springs, CO -

I found this the Amisco Marcia Bed in a search I did on google and I like the low footboard on it but I don’t understand why it is called a canopy bed when there is no canopy?  Is that something extra you can buy for it? The pictures and options don’t mention a possible canopy to buy so I wanted to clarify.
Hi Polly,
Good Question! Yes, the Marcia Bed is available in 3 different configurations: Canopy Bed, Complete Bed, and Headboard Only.

Amsico’s Website doesn’t not offer a pic of the Canopy Bed either, but the pricing is different. So if you want the Complete Bed – which is shown in the pic – you need to make sure you do not order the Canopy Bed.

Love to hear good feeback!

From Pat and Gary -

We just want to thank you for your wonderful service and loads of info available in choosing our new mattress. Just received it yesterday. The crew was wonderful, competent and great personalities. I had to let you know, the reason we choose Sealy was a hotel stay. Well, last night was the best night sleep ever. We bought an upgrade from the hotel’s model and am not sorry. Thanks again, I do appreciate all info available. It helped us in choosing what we could afford and both of us like.

Pat and Gary,

We are very happy to hear that you are satisfied with your purchase, it is always nice to hear positive feedback.

Toddler Mattress Recommendations

May 7, 2009

From Serge -
I was hoping to get some guidance on a mattress for my 2 year old son. I am looking for a decent quality bed and am torn between the idea of firm vs. plush beds.  I have read on some posts saying for a young child’s spinal development that it should be a firm bed and was wondering if there was any truth to this?

I was looking at something like a Sealy euro-top type bed in a firm or plush. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Serge,

Yes, you should avoid getting a very soft, cushy mattress for a young child, like a Pillowtop or Euro Top. You can get a firm or plush. Plush is a neutral feel and would not hurt a child’s development in any way.

In the Sealy line-up, we recommend either the Sealy Eaglewood Plush or Cushion Firm for young children.

Stearns and Foster Model Update

May 7, 2009

From Sandy -

I currently have a Sterns and Foster mattress that I love. I am interested in buying the same set as I currently have, but I can’t find it.

Here is the information on the label:
manufacture date…99-08-05
593116 queen 5408 Dominion Knightsbridge PT.

Do they still make this mattress? It’s a pillowtop. Did they change the name or model number?

Hi Sandy,

Thank you for contacting US-Mattress.com
Mattress companies consistently update their line ups. Your model, the Knightsbridge Pillowtop, is a model that Stearns and Foster made until 2002. I ran a search and the model that replaced it is known as the Toulous Ultra Plush Box Top.

If you have any questions, please give us a call by dialing 1-800-455-1052.

Bunk Bed Ladder

May 7, 2009

From Llyswen in Burbank, CA -

Can the ladder on the Tradewins Birch Arch Bunk Bed be moved from the right side to the left side?

Hi Llyswen,

Yes, you can alternate the ladder. It’s fairly easy to do. You would also need to set up the top bunk rail so that the opening is in the coordinating position.
